..a rake of virgin liveried mk2/mk3s heading south between Perth and Stirling a couple of hours ago?

Any idea what it was (if indeed it was old virgin stock) and where it was going?

Not sure if it's your train, but there was 1Z43 1601 Aviemore-York, which I think is a charter train, due to pass Perth at about 1800.....

It may well have been, I was on 18:11 GLQ-INV when I saw it so would have been between 6:40 and 7:20 roughly when it passed me.

The link provided by Eagle has a picture of ex virgin coaches on it, glad I'm not seeing things!

There are still numerous Virgin Trains (red and black) liveried Mk2s in use on charters, those used on charters are owned by Riviera Trains.

late, but it definitely was the train Eagle mentioned. No doubt about it. Full rake of Virgin liveried Mk2s, with a couple of DRS 47s up front
