Well
Firstly many apologies for not updating as i mentioned i would above - trying to do it on a iPhone with piddly keyboard and auto correct is a nightmare !
so here goes for the first 2 days
Day 1 and its Tgursday at 05:30 with alarm ringing in my ear and I'm up bleary eyed and having a coffee by 5:40 with a few rounds of toast, shower and packing of final toiletries i leave the house for the 06:52 St Davids to Padd train.
At St Davids at 6:30 i take up a seat on P5 for the remainder 20 mins and read my latest Facebook updates and messages on email etc.
Anyway 06:50 train arrives and 06:52 on the dot we are away and the adventure for me begins -
Nothing much is noted as uncommon on the route up passing ex DRS 66415 in blue in Taunton Fairwater, 66846 and 70810 T n T a freight at Langley (think was engineers train) and 66150 @ a stone terminal near Heathrow jctn which i never seen before (pastime on this route was 18-19 yrs ago lol)
Arrival at paid is 08:58 and a whole 2 mins early and I'm straight on the underground to Euston Square for the 5 min walk to Euston which at present is undergoing a refurbishment and will i think look quite nice when done but is it not going to be redeveloped as part of HS 2 making this a prospective rather expensive waste of money or am i miles off the mark here ??
4 hours later with the highlight of the morning being 92018 and 038 on the sleepers sat in the platform I'm boarding 221101 and 221115 for the 13:xx Euston - Glasgow via Birmingham New St ......
A rather uneventful trip to Glasgow follows with a few 66's and 92's noted en route along with 3 of my final 5 class 68's being seen (010 @ crewe with 001 and 003 @ kingmoor ) with 90028 and 47812 sat at Pomadie on the sleeper awaiting entry into Glasgow.
2 hours sat on Glasgow and its now 9.15 pm so I head off to my hotel for a night with a few beers at spoons on the way
Next morning and 06:45 I'm out the door so as to spend a couple hours on central grabbing as many of the units as i can before starting my rover
09:00 and rover issued I'm onto 318253 for the trip to Hyndland to spend time looking for my last 318 (264), 4 mins later into Patrick and boom there it is 318264 going in opposite direction so result.....
Now only needing the 334's running through there I'm aboard 334015 for the trip to Haymarket via bathgate (as winch burgh tunnells closed this is one of two routes available), Passing numerous 334's I'm into Haymarket shortly after 10 where i spend a few hours spotting amongst other things the required 170's, 334's and the trams

just after 1 and i board 334030 for the hop into Edinburgh where i grab food and drinks before a further couple hours spotting.
Notes show next move was 170460 for Edinburgh to Linlithgow for a change to 170418 to go into Glasgow Queen St (this is the second route into Glasgow available during the winch burgh tunnel works apparently)
I then get to Glasgow and head straight back on the same route using 170418 to Linlitgow and 170413 back in Edinburgh to get onto 68002 on the Fife Circle for an out and back trip (68007 wagon Cardenden trip).
2 hours later or so and back at Edinburgh after a nice trip around the circle noting all the construction works for the new road bridge across the forth and crossing the Forth rail bridge for the first time in 23 years bringing back memories of doing it with my dad who is no longer with us so a tear or two did develop.
Grabbing tea at Edinburgh and a pint i get aboard 334039 for the return trip to Glasgow Queen st Low level and the 5 min walk to the hotel to end the second days travelling and spotting escapades.
Days 3-5 will follow soon
