My partner and I are considering a trip to Devon in July. We'd like to visit the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway and the South Devon Railway.

The former's website is a bit frustrating. (It would be much easier if you could see all of the timetables together for the various bus, train and river services, so that you can see if it's feasible to do on a given date).

Is it possible to buy the Round Robin ticket on the day if you turn up at Totnes in the morning for the bus to Paignton? Where are the bus stops exactly? How long does it take to get to the bus from the railway station? This sort of info would be really useful on the website!

If anyone can provide some assistance in planning our trip we woudl be very grateful. Mrs G would like to do the River Dart trip as well as the steam train, and we'd both like to visit Buckfastleigh as well! We will be staying with friends in Plymouth.

The bus stop in Totnes is either by the quayside (where the boat drops people off from Dartmouth) however I also believe you can catch it in the main town.
It then goes to Paignton, along the seafront and then drops you outside the steam railway.
And there is a little ticket booth down by Totnes quayside, so i'd expect it to allow you to buy tickets there.

As for distances to Totnes mainline, it isn't the closest, but at the same time, not too far away.
