Details of 508 refurb demonstrator

Hi all,
Does anyone have any details of the two driving coaches from a 508 being refurbed into a demonstrator for bombardier? Apparently its not for a customer, rather a demonstration of what bombardier can do to old stock.

I was not aware of any 508s being refurbed. I know that 2 were saved from the scrapheap to become barrier/translator vehicles, the conversion being done at Eastleigh, whilst Bombardier were refurbishing parts of a class 317/7 as a demonstrator in a similar fashion to what Eversholt have done with one of their class 321s

exactly! One has just been repainted into a sort of white/grey livery.

Are you sure that's not just an ex-Connex unit?

Nope, it was in a SE livery covered in moss, and its now been shot blasted and painted. I think it might have been 210 but I'm not entirely sure. There was only the two driving ends though, not the middle coach.

The numbers are 64710 (ex 508208) and 64720 (ex 508210). Both are driving cars.
