detailing packs

Hi
I have put detailing on the front of my locos but a bit of a problem has occoured. They keep falling off and they are leaving unsightly bits of glue all in the drilled holes. Is there anyway I can fix this and remove the detailing and glue?

on the parts that go onto the buffer beam get a craft knife and run it across the little parts very lightly, this then gives the glue somthing to grip onto...
losing detail parts i find is a big problem when removing locos from layouts..
