Whilst working at Old Oak Common last night, various FGW HST's' came in and out of the depot, most had Destination stickers on the windows, i thought these were a thing of the past, which if any other TOC still has these stickers?.
Most stickers by the way said Taunton.

East Coast have them on some of the windows of the carriage doors on 225s, and the HSTs have them on windows either in or next to the toilets.

FGW have them printed for nearly every HST service. Even the HSTs just running Plymouth-Penzance and Plymouth-Newquay still have window labels.

A while ago, I was going through a set just before the final stop, pulling them off the window and taking the seat reservation labels out, when a chap asked if he could have them. I said yea, sure, go and help your self to them all, off he went with a huge grin and did them all for me - Result! (I even gave him the load of unused ones that were lurking in the TGS!)

That's true, I've kept several from my Cardiff-London journeys, I once was on a London to Swansea train and got off at Cardiff and I took it home forgetting the train still had calls at Bridgend, Port Talbot, Neath and Swansea! :P

390034 was working 1A71 last Friday and it didn't have the door signs working, although when we overtook it at Stockport it did.

Not any more, but they did at the start of the franchise. Think they stopped using them when they started running 4 HSTs in service each day. The Summer Saturday hire-in sets also used to have On Hire to Cross Country window labels.

For a while a year or two ago FGW changed the format of the destination stickers, putting it all in their corporate typeface. Unfortunately it's so thin that it was impossible to read anything but the final destination unless you were right close to the window. They've since changed back to a chunkier font.

I might be mistaken but I think I've been on ATW 158s with destination boards in the door windows?

You are right but, I haven't seen then used in a long time. Sometimes a special sign will be used if a disabled person in a wheelchair is traveling near the door.
