Other than the “St” names I doubt there’s any other instance where you would need to get to the second word of a station before the one you wanted appeared in the automatic selection. Would think that it would be good practice for both versions (St and Saint) to be included.

What would you consider intuitive? To me, typing ST (space) for a station name which starts ST (space) seems the obvious thing to do!
Especially if the onscreen keyboard has a space key on it.
just focus on the letters, I'm sure I type WOOLWICH ARSENAL without heeding space and it comes up.

Indeed! In your Woolwich example - on the tvms Ive met it would be displaying Woolwich Arsenal as one of the “short list” by the time you reached the second “w” so the question wouldn’t apply.

Should have thought of those! Indeed “Old” and “New” might on their own not be enough to bring up a full list.
Surely when you are faced with a station which has ST followed by a space in its name on the station signage, typing the name with a space is the logical thing to do?
