Hi all,

What units are normally allocated to the Derwent Valley Line? Saturday (02/08) we appeared to have Class 158 units most, if not all of the day with Turbostars Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Is this usual or is there a reason?

Secondly, are the Class 170 units ex London Midland? The interior looks familiar.

Many thanks.

They are usually Turbostars with the occasional Class 158; however at the moment with the closure of Stockport EMR are not running to Liverpool which I assumes frees up a number of 158's to strengthen other services. Did notice a number of Crewe services yesterday were doubled up and some of the Matlock's today are also running as 4 cars.

The EMR 2-car Turbostars with the green seats are indeed ex-London Midland.

Services could also have been strengthened for the Greatest Gathering, maybe even for the Derby County match.
