Derby to Water Orton Question

Hi I have recently purchased a season ticket for travel for a month between Water Orton and Derby for University so no problem there.
But some smart sh#t has managed to give me a lesson on wdnesday at 17.00 till 18.00 problem is the only direct train isn't till 21.08 but I was wondering can I get a non direct service which involves changing at Birmingham new street seen as though I am only traveling from Derby to Water Orton although in a strange Fashion.

If you could help me ASAP it would be great as I have to try this on this wednesday..........
