Derby to North Wales

Hello.

Traveling from Derby to Pwllheli on the 23rd May, specifically need the train that arrives at 13:16.

Sheffield to Pwllheli (via Derby) is £34 which is superb, but seeing as it's a long enough journey I'm reluctant to travel to Sheffield to take advantage of it as it would add another hour to my journey.

Any other options that come remotely close?

Two advances, split at Birmingham New Street ? Derby-Birmingham on the 0727 is £15.30 arr bhm at 0808 and a bhm-Pwllheli advance on the 0825 is £18.50 and arrives Pwllheli at 1316. There may be cheaper options, this was just a quick check. Nice scenic run after Newtown and Caersws

Yes, that's almost as cheap as it gets if the OP needs to get that specific combination of trains. Trainsplit suggests that you can save a massive additional 10p by splitting additionally at Wolverhampton but I doubt the hassle of booking a further ticket is worth it!

True, but can you imagine the backlash if we didn't offer the split, having found it?
