Isn't that the second incident with an ICE unit within the past 2/3 weeks?
RE 1, RE 6 und RE 11: between Essen and Hamm via Herne and Gelsenkirchen. Passengers to Bochum Hbf have to go to Herne and use the U 35. Passengers to Wattenscheid travel to Gelsenkirchen Hbf and use tram 302 to Bochum.

RB 43 starts/ends in Dortmund-Marten.
RB 53 and RE 57 starts/ends in Dortmund-Hörde.

Looks like there's a set of points there, is it known whether the points were facing or trailing for the direction of travel?

Looks to me like the central rails are approaching a nose, as the rails seem to be converging, so the pointwork that the train is sat on is probably trailing.
But that does not discount any pointwork that may be out of shot.

German media states two injuries.
Update from Rheinische Post today at 8.24: tracks 6, 7, 9 and 10 are still blocked. On 10 the train derailed. Still no trains to Bochum, Witten and Dortmund-Hörde, but than they say that Bochum is possible without a detour. The train has now gone; removed with a diesel locomotive, but the last carriages wheels were so damaged that were placed on something. To remove the last part of the train the overhead wires had to be taken away.

From to/where does Thalys run with Dortmund-Bochum closed. Essen?
According to the German travelplanner the 5.19 from Dortmund (to Paris) departed from track 18 and i see no delays listed. The difference between a Thalys from Dortmund to Duisburg and an IC from Dortmund to Duisburg, but via Wanne-Eickel, Gelsenkirchen and Oberhausen is only 8 minutes. A visit to the DB website says that trains from Dortmund to Essen are not affected, but all Essen to Dortmund trains have a detour via Gelsenkirchen and at least 10 to 15 minutes delay on arrival.
