According to the NRE website, a train has derailed between Halifax and Sowerby Bridge. Anyone know anymore about this ?

Yes, a train has come off the rails and is blocking the line
According to the "Northern" forum, it derailed on hitting a landslide at the entrance to Bankhouse tunnel, between Halifax and Sowerby Bridge.
Fortunately, no-one was injured and passengers and crew were transferred to another set brought alongside.
Some Leeds-Manchester/Blackpool trains are being diverted via Brighouse. Others are terminating at Halifax with a bus connection on to Hebden Bridge.

Landslide caused by heavy rain at Dryclough Junction, 5 or 6 passengers on. Nothing major.
Any idea what class of unit out of curiosity?

158851, apparently - this will now be out of service for quite some time, as the unit has received considerable underside damage. Combined with 180103 being out of traffic for an estimated 2-3 months, this once again puts the Northern dmu fleet under a ridiculous strain :roll::roll:
2T02 derailed all but last bogie at 6:08 this morning. 2M00 had signal put back at Halifax station. 8 passengers aboard. Looks like council were working on the road above and the embankment wall collapsed onto the track. 2T02 travelling around 30mph due to speed restriction outside black house tunnel. Retailing tonight unit to stable at Halifax. Engine and gearbox on floor and exhaust pipe on rear unit dislodged into flywheel. Several suspension springs broken free. Have pictures if anyone would like to see can send via email.
Sounds quite bad - hope all involved escaped unharmed.

I've tried from my phone but it will not let me. No injurys reported. Guard banged his head on the roof the driver hit the nrn to make an emergency boardcast to York control while applying the brakes.

Yesterday ent to Manchester Victoria and trains were running through Bradford Int again.
what happened to 180103 will the other 2 be in service on a saturday?

I was going to Halifax on the 08.29 off Blackpool North which terminated at Blackburn because the guard didn't sign any of the diversionary routes. We waited for the next one an hour at Blackburn. The was a announcement at Preston but it was barely heard by anyone. The rail replacement was surprisingly efficient thought with what must have been a northern employee driving as he announced the stops and reasons for the delay as a guard would!
Think it could have got to Hebden Bridge. Teminating at Blackburn would have been no use to anyone on that train.

No they didn't. All trains from Vic didn't go to BDI yesterday.

I thought that too, but it did terminate at Blackburn as I was on it!

It read on the Platform Board Bradford Interchange.

Well I worked the 2021 to Leeds and pretty sure I didn't have to change ends at Bradford
Probably just an error wih the input of the screens
The departure boards also advertised the 2309 Man Vic-Liverpool LS as running through to Liverpool on Thursday - I was the guard, & it most certainly terminated at Earlestown, with the unit returning as ecs to NH.
Now for some good news - the Calder Valley route between Hebden Bridge-Halifax was reopened this afternoon at 1510, which is good news for the many Monday morning commuters.

This was also quite probably done so as to have the unit + crew returning to Blackpool Nth in the path of a York-Blackpool Nth service, that had quite possibly been curtailed at Leeds or thereabouts.
However, I totally agree with you as regards the inconvenience - I would imagine there were a lot of very unhappy passengers left at Blackburn, when that somewhat dubious decision was made by Control - the crossover at Hebden Bridge is presently in full working order, & with 3 services per hour starting from Man Victoria, passengers would have endured far less disruption.
