National Rail reports

Train services between Scunthorpe and Barnetby are being disrupted due to a derailed freight train.

Alterations and delays to services of up to 45 minutes can be expected.

There is currently no estimated time for a normal service to resume.

Updates: Train services are terminating at/starting from Scunthorpe. Buses are replacing trains between Scunthorpe and Cleethorpes in both directions.

Local gen groups:

6M49 Immingham to Rugeley Freightliner coal train has suffered a split axle and come off the road. 2 sets of points completely smashed at Foreign Ore Junction and about 300 yards of track destroyed. The AWS magnet from the protecting signal is now at the junction! Thats about 500 yards. (Unsure about this info - see post below)

All services are at the moment cancelled freight and passenger. The Brigg
line is being opened for possible diversions.

To add to this, the unit on the Cleethorpes to Barton line has failed, and no replacement can be sent due to the incident

Sounds pretty bad!

UPDATE: The Brigg line is now open for diversions, and some freight is also running via Lincoln.

Just one correction to my first posting, the location of the derailment is
close to Wrawby Junction

Ta John Terry

In which case, i'm unsure about some parts of the first post, because unless this actually happened at Wrawby Junction, there aren't any points involved!
