Hi everyone my name is Colin from Lancashire and i'm new to the forum. I have been reading the forum for the past few days and thanks to all the contributors, the information is excellent.

I have recently applied for a Depot Train Driver position at Blackburn . Although it wasn't stated as a Trainee position, it did state the salary would be 75% (during training). From what i can gather, it is a new or refurbished depot and it is opening at the end of the year?

I only filled in the application form in a few days ago and emailed my cover letter and CV off to HR to strengthen my application.

My background is Aerospace Engineering so i'm looking at a complete career change.

Has anyone on here applied for this position at Blackburn previously? I can see an old thread from 2106 which i can't reply against. Does the salary increase the same as main line drivers or are depot drivers paid less?

Thanks
Colin

This is a brand new depot, regarding pay I think top pay on advert was 35k, you will get 75% of this whilst in training , good luck

Thanks for the reply Louby. Yes it did say £35k but wasn't sure whether it was structured so it gradually increases and after year 3 it will reach max salary. Do you know how long training usually is for Depot Driver position or does it depend on TOC?
