Both FCC and GA have tweeted:

There is a problem with Live Departure boards on Apps/Web systems where trains may show incorrect real-time info @nationalrailenq aware.
What causes this? And will it be just a regional problem? Or will the whole system play up? Is it split up into different regions, explaining FFC and GA being effected?

Think its the whole country, definitely causing issues in the midlands as well. Realtime trains is unaffected so it has to be a software issue as RTT uses the same data if you trace it back far enough. Clearly something has happened as this is no where near the first outage in the last month.

Have had several incidents where the main East Midlands Departure board at STP is completely incorrect, and the online information is the same ....

How can this be, surely it is the best way to keep the public informed

I've seen the same problem at Tring, there is a sign on platform 2 (I think - I usually depart from other platforms) that has been flickering random information up for the past few years at certain intervals...I've seen 'Sheffield' advertised on it, amongst other places.

Someone responsible for Littlehaven station disagrees with you. They ripped down the departure boards and fitted a tiny PC screen on a post that only about three people can crowd around. Even worse, in bad weather it spends longer on the "don't slip on wet surfaces" screen than it does showing anything vaguely related to trains.

** UPDATE **

I stand corrected, as there are new boards being fitted as part of the station refurb!
