As a participant on both forums, I'd say EDF represents the views of 'normal' railway users and local residents who perhaps don't have a deep understanding of the way the Railway works, but who are concerned about the station. It doesnt seem like frothing to me, more fed up residents who deal daily with a sub par situation.

The only bit I thought a bit OTT was the demand to not have steps but ramps to the platforms in case you didnt like lifts, but thats probably just me.

Exactly I've not seen any frothing at the mouth on there.

As for lifts some people really will not use them, a staff member at Bromley South said how many people struggle up the stairs with luggage and such like because they don't like using lifts.

It is worth remembering that the previous rebuild had some very late changes (and massive cost increases (£Ms) and delays) as a result of NR not remembering that UKPN's (was EdF at the time) 132kV cables run along side the tracks from Old Kent road area to Bengeworth Rd Substation (just out the back i.e. West of Kings) and then some 33kV cables back in the other direction from Bengeworth Rd Substation to Chadwick Rd Substation (also beside the tracks at Peckham Rye). All a legacy of everything in the area originally being powered by Deptford Power Station.

When digging a hole for the lift shaft pit in the platform you don't want to find a 132kV cable with a spade :oops::oops: hence a slight redesign last time...

What did the redesign involve? Would it otherwise have included a second exit or larger ticket hall building?
