Denied Boarding With Mobility Scooter

Got this off a friend in Cumbria who said he couldn't board the train from Whitehaven to Carlisle because he wasn't 16 and in a mobility scooter and had to wait two hours for the next one.

You cant take mobility scooters on the train anyway can you?

I know they are not allowed on buses because of the weight etc

Um, based on the OP yes we do.

And the OP is an expert in rail affairs. She has been given a York number which suggests something like Northern Rail HQ, or maybe the National Rail Museum (which is what signalboxes will be reporting to in 15 or so years time)
