I have just purchased an Accurascale model Deltic and am confused that their 9014 The Duke Of Wellington Regiment has its warning horns on the buffer beam, I worked on the maintenance of the five Deltic’s allocated to Gateshead TMD and I can’t remember any of the fleet having them in that position I thought they were all located on in front and to the side of the windscreens.
Can anyone throw some light on this.

Originally they all had them down there, but they were later moved (around 1970 I think) to the noses so they could be heard better.

Ok that explains it, I got a promotion to Gateshead in 1970 but never saw them on the buffer beam.
