Delays In Blackpool Area Early 2017

I have heard that there will be delays to trains around the Blackpool area in early 2017 (supposedly until the Easter Holiday?)

If anybody knows more about which dates the works commence and end, plus the reasons behind the works (are they electrifying the route from Preston to Blackpool?) then I would be grateful. Thanks!

I think this NR press release will tell you all you need to know.
Yes they are starting work on electrification between Preston and Blackpool, together with resignalling and track alterations at Blackpool, Poulton and Kirkham.
It will go on for another 18 months, mainly during quiet times at Blackpool.

I wouldn't call them "delays" exactly, there are service alterations early and late and there will be complete closure at times, mainly at weekends.
