Now that this service is over an hour late (due to a train fault) I've been told and isn't due into Skipton platform three for another twenty minutes, what compensatory measures can I expect from Northern Rail?
If a delay to a Northern service adds an hour or more to your journey, we will offer you National Rail travel vouchers to the value of at least 50% of the fare you paid for that journey. This also applies to weekly season ticket holders. The vouchers are available for use on Northern and other train operators’ services.
Northern tend to hand out Free Day Travel across their Network if Im correct. Well reading this from past threads.
Assuming you're no more than 2 hours late at your final destination they should send you rail travel vouchers for at least 25% of the price of your ticket if it's a return or 50% of the price if it's a single.
Northern rarely hand out claim forms on board trains or on platforms, unlike other operators but if you can't get one just write out your journey details in the form of a letter and post it (along with your ticket) to:

Assuming you were heading to Carlisle your booked train at 1126 was due into there at 1329.
The 1126 was cancelled at Shipley due to train fault, your next available service would of been the 1229 which is currently 20 late, was due into Carlisle at 1437, looking like around about 1500. So total delay your looking @ is 1hr 31mins
