For Virgin? Absolutely. Expect lengthy delays. That said, Virgin do not participate in Delay Repay, and instead pay peanuts in accordance with their Passenger's Charter Scheme (though I know some forum members who wrote long letters and got £50 because Virgin didn't want to spend the time reading them!)

For East Coast? It can be.

Yes, Virgin have been part of the Delay Repay scheme for the last few months.

East Coast are typically quite efficient, speaking from experience, and I normally have my RTVs in my letter box within a week of sending the claims.

Sorry, I am surprised I didn't see that mentioned!

Last time I had a delay with them they were very stingy, our entire group had delays both ways, had 1st class declassified, and we got about £5 or something between us. One person sent a separate claim and got £50.

I bet Virgin were really unhappy at participating in Delay Repay, but of course if the DfT insists on it, they have to do it! :p

Still waiting on some DR from mid august with EC. If it goes on for much longer, give them a call and prompt them to send it, sometimes they process it but forget to send it!

I believe the going rate for Virgin's "We can't be bothered to read the letter you sent us and won't be doing anything about it, so instead take this money and drop it" is now £75.

For East Coast this time period is definitely at the end of the normal range based on my experience.

However they might have had a high volume of cases to handle following the great(ish) storm. I would give it another week and follow up if you have not heard by then.

Sounds like it's time to put pen to paper (or hit the keyboard at least!).

Wasn't that the day of the "big storm" if so they've probably been flooded with claims.
