Delay repay when train arrives early

Hi,

A DR claim of mine, based on the timetabled arrival time, is 30 mins delay but the train arrived 2 mins early, at least according to realtraintimes. And I guess this is why the claim has been paid at the lower rate for 15-29 mins delayed. Are they right to have done this ? Thanks.

Delay Repay is based on your actual arrival time vs the scheduled arrival time of your planned journey, so taking live running into account is unfortunately correct.

Arguably the Delay Repay thresholds should each be lowered slightly or the planned arrival time of other legs should be used, instead of live running. But sadly that is not how the system works.

@ngood77. Could be worse! Some operators, such as XC, have a minimum 30 minutes 'Delay Repay' threshold. If your journey with them was delayed by 28 minutes, you'd likely receive nothing.
