Delay Repay when taking the next train with first class accommodation

The train I was planning to catch this morning was delayed and ultimately cancelled. As I held a first class ticket, I took the next train that had first class accommodation and arrived over 30 minutes late. There was one earlier train I could have taken to arrive less than 15 minutes late, but it was a local service with no first class accommodation. Can I claim Delay Repay based on my journey?

The best thing to do in this situation is speak to the staff to see what they'd advise. Usually it would be reasonable to wait but it depends how long. If you boarded the service without First Class, and your original service should have had First Class, then you'd be entitled to the refund of the difference.
