Delay repay - started journey at an intermediate station

I travelled from Stratford upon Avon to Waterbeach via London on one of the super hot days this week and was very heavily delayed.

I had started my journey from Leamington Spa as the 2-hourly service from Stratford didn't fit very well with my plans, and at the opposite end of the journey I could only get as far as Cambridge North before getting a taxi the rest of the way.

Would either of these things affect my chances of getting delay repay? Thanks in advance for the help!

Provided your ticket permitted break of journey you simply claim for what you actually did, it is perfectly valid to do a partial journey and claim for what you actually did, I very often bail at MKC on a ticket to Bletchley southbound for instance if the wait for a connection is too long to be bothered. If the taxi was necessary due to disruption you can arguably put in the time you actually arrived at Waterbeach in the taxi, particularly if the railway provided it. If there wasn't a way to ask them for it you could potentially also ask customer services if they will cover the cost.

Great news, thanks very much!
