Yesterday I booked a journey from Urmston to Walsall using the forum's ticket site, and split tickets.
1723 Urmston-1733 Manchester Oxford Road (Y06432 to Oxford Road)
1743 Manchester Oxford Road - 1745 Manchester Piccadilly (Y00879 to Manchester Airport)
1803 Manchester Piccadilly - 1933 Birmingham New Street (C23241 to Birmingham New Street)
1945 Birmingham New Street - 2007 Walsall (L34316 to Rugeley Trent Valley)
This was delivered as e-tickets, tickets were split Urmston-Manchester, Manchester-Stafford, Stafford Wolverhampton (all Advance Singles), and Wolverhampton-Walsall (Evening Day Return, not using the return half).
Y06432, 1723 Urmston-MCO was cancelled due to unavailable traincrew.
I took the 1749 service to Oxford Road as the next available service, then the 1809 TPE service to Cleethorpes to get across to Piccadilly where I arrived at approx. 1813.
At this point I found that C23241, 1803 MAN-Birmingham New St was delayed and had not yet departed - trespass incident at Penkridge was holding trains.
Shortly after, this was cancelled and passengers were advised to use the 1825 XC service to Southampton Central.
This service was held until around 1915 when it too was cancelled - alternative routes for some passengers were advised, but not for anyone travelling via Birmingham. The TM explained that there weren't any drivers available to sign a diversionary route avoiding Wolverhampton.
At this point passengers were advised to use the 1925 Southampton Central service. This departed on time.
I arrived at New St around 9pm then took the 2115 service to Rugeley Trent Valley, arriving at Walsall approximately 2138 - 91 minutes down.
How do I apply for Delay Repay in this case - I haven't done this with split tickets before, does it go to Northern or XC, and do I just send them my entire itinerary and all the tickets? I'm pretty sure it would be Northern as if XC were running on time I'd have missed my connection, but I'd like to double check.
Will I only receive 50% back on the Wolverhampton-Walsall ticket as technically I only used the outward portion?
Thanks
