I was travelling from Reading to Wolverhampton yesterday morning on the CrossCountry service - then connecting with a LNWR service to Liverpool Lime Street.

My original train, the 0915 was cancelled, so had to get the 1015 service. The 1015 service was 49mins late into Wolverhampton so I missed the 1253 connection.

I therefore arrived 1h late, but the crossCountry part of the journey was delayed by 1h49m.

Do I claim on the whole journey or just the CrossCountry part?

Let me know if you need any more info from me.

Claim for the whole journey Reading-Liverpool based on the delay in arriving in Liverpool based on your original plan, claim from Cross Country. You were originally due to arrive at 13:15, weren’t you? Your delay for the claim is then how much later than this that you actually arrived.

EDIT Unless the 09:15 was cancelled in advance, in which case you may only be able to claim a lesser delay. But it looks like the change wasn’t made until 05:25 yesterday morning.

I was booked to arrive at 1418 as I wanted to dump my luggage at the Premier Inn I was staying at, so 1hr delay repay from Cross Country.
