I was delayed by over 2 hours by TPE on both my outward and return journeys. Am I entitled to delay repay for both directions? They are saying they've already paid out so won't accept the claim for the return, though actually it was far worse being over 2.5 hours late.....

Some train companies will pay out twice the price of the original ticket and some won't.

TPE's website clearly states that you are "entitled" to 100% compensation of the cost of your return ticket if you arrive at your destination 120+ minutes late. As the destination of the outward journey and the return journey must, by definition, be different then you are entitled to delay repay compensation in both directions.

I think it might be worth to submitting your complaint to TPE Customer Service about the return journey and request they send you a rail travel voucher, give the excessive delays. They might issue a goodwill gesture although TPE can be hit and miss.

Friend of mine recently had the same on TPE for a massive delay on both legs. They paid out twice in full (without any prompting) so they certainly can do this
