Delay repay help.

I was on the 0900 Haverfordwest to crewe changing onto the 1510 to Edinburgh with avanti on Tuesday 4th. My destination being Carlisle arriving approx 30 mins late - i am aware this makes me eligible for delay repay however how to do this for a split ticket I don't know.

I had a ticket to Carlisle split at wigan north western, so would i be claiming for the full journey or just the wigan section? Do I need to disclose wigan as boarding stage or Haverfordwest?

@Anonymous10. Presume you were actually on the 0915 TfW service from Haverfordwest. On time arrival at Crewe. Valid onward connection onto the 1509 Avanti service to Edinburgh, which arrived about 35 minutes down at Carlisle.

I would say you have a valid Delay Repay claim from Avanti, as the delay arriving in to Carlisle was more than 15 minutes. The ticket price will be whatever you paid in total to get from Haverfordwest to Carlisle, notwithstanding they comprised split (single?) tickets.

I would say you have a valid Delay Repay claim from Avanti, as the delay arriving in to Carlisle was more than 15 minutes. The ticket price will be whatever you paid in total to get from Haverfordwest to Carlisle, notwithstanding they comprised split (single?) tickets.

They comprised of a split return to Carlisle with the below being the makeup

Ticket 1
Off-peak return
Haverfordwest - wigan north western / wall gate

Ticket 2
Off peak return
Wigan north western to Carlisle

Purchased through trainsplit who split the ticket, hence my confusion on what I would need to enter and the compensation I'm eligible for.

Assuming your tickets weren't railcard discounted, respectively the ticket prices would have been £122.20 + £60.50, yes? Total = £182.70 so the Delay Repay due should be 25% of that, so £45.68.

(Equivalent figures with railcard discount should, I think, be £81.35 + £40.25 (total = £121.60), Delay Repay due = £30.40).

Delay Repay applies to the whole journey.

It is claimed from the operator whose train is deemed to have caused the delay.

If you were on time until you boarded an Avanti train, then yes claim from Avanti.

If you want the best possible advice, please post your intended itinerary (in an easy to read/tabular format) and your actual journey times and detail any delays or missed connections that occured.

Avanti's delay repay website is set up to facilitate split ticket claims. You are asked if you made the journey using one or several tickets. If you click the latter, you can enter as many split tickets as used to make your journey.
