Delay Repay Help

Not sure where I stand with regards to the above so thought I'd ask the question. Travelling Motherwell to Hartlepool via Carlisle on 2 separate tickets. One to Carlisle from Motherwell & then one from Carlisle to Hartlepool. First train has been delayed by long enough to miss the train at Carlisle even though minimum connection time would have been left if had been on time. Even though it's 2 separate tickets & ultimately my journey is going to be delayed more than an hour getting to Hartlepool where do I stand in regards to claiming delay repay as train had first ticket wasn't late long enough of that makes sense?

You can use more than one ticket for each journey so you will need to explain exactly what your intended journey (and times) should have been, what they actually were and how much the delay was, include a photo of all the tickets that you had for the complete journey and that should be enough to sort it out, they will probably try and say that you were only travelling to Carlisle and are therefore not entitled to any compensation so you might need to remind them of the ability to split tickets for one journey.
You claim from the TOC that caused the initial delay!
