Me and my mates experienced this delay which I mentioned here: https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/wcml-disruption-preston.301744/ resulting in us getting back to Brighton at gone 4 in the morning :(
I wish to claim DR from AWC for all five of us - can I do this all in one claim? This slightly complicated as one of us lives in Crawley so only travelled to/from Three Bridges.
I also wish to claim for the taxis that I had to pay for to get us home,
which were a black cab from EUS to VIC £30 (paid cash, no receipt) and a £70 odd uber from TBD to Brighton (have receipt).
I couldn't see a way to claim this on the avanti website?

The journey was meant to be:
1653 NCL to CAR
1846 CAR to EUS
2324 STP to BTN

because of the late arriva into EUS we end up catching:
0208 VIC to TBD

Your original itinerary doesn’t appear to adhere to the minimum connection time between Euston and St Pancras, but this may not be much of a problem in view of the length of delay.

Not having a receipt is likely to make claiming that problematic.

I don’t think this is possible.

It would adhere to the shorter minimum connection time that National Rail and Trainline (I think) implement of 21 mins.

Am I able submit multiple claims for the same journey with different tickets using my account?
No, they will need to be separate accounts. Why can’t your travelling companions claim for themselves?

It's a 15 minute walk maximum for me, platform to platform (I appreciate this is not how MCTs work in reality)
Either way the 2354 service would have satisfied the longer MCT and the actual arrival was still over 120m late.

In short, they all struggle with technology. I will get them to set up the accounts and do the rest for them.

The Avanti West Coast Delay Repay portal allows you to upload multiple tickets in one claim, explicitly to cover the case where "you are also claiming on behalf of a travelling companion or a group" (and/or if you have split tickets). Since you are only giving one set of journey details everyone would definitely have to be travelling on the same itinerary. I don't know whether there are any additional unstated requirements such as all tickets being purchased together, and it's also not clear whether the ease in claiming together outweighs the risk of confusion...

Thanks @pelli, yeah think it’s probably easier to them separately.
Does anyone know how I can try to reclaim the uber fare?

As claiming expenses like this isn't part of Delay Repay, you would need to contact Avanti customer services about this separately. However, if you do this after you have submitted the Delay Repay claim, you can quote the reference number of that in your message.
