Hi, I hold a first class ticket from Manchester to Cleethorpes today on TP express, it is not an advance fare so it is valid on any train, however the train I intended to catch is cancelled and I need to wait I think 3 hours until the next service (I can not catch an earlier service due to committments)
As I will be arriving into Cleethorpes 3 hours late I will be claiming delay repay.
My question is would my delay repay be repaid based on the fare I paid (extra as I have first class) or only as if it was a standard ticket.
The reason I ask is that a friend once had an issue getting the correct amount back from another train company when they held first class, they tried to argue that as it was first class ticket they are only allowed compensation back as if it was a standard ticket they held, they eventually got it all back on appeal.
Thanks
