So on Sunday my journey went as follows;

8.26 Manchester Piccadilly
9.56 Birmingham

XC service
10.30 Birmingham (arrived 119m late)
11.50 bristol (arrived 118m late)
Actual arrival 13.48

GWR service
1400 bristol (14m late
14.24 Chippenham (18 m late arrived 14.42)

Should have arrived at chippenham at 12.24 so Total delay overall is 130+ mins.

Both xc and gwr are responsible for the overall delay due to separate legs of the journey, who do I claim from as I’m due the full refund of my ticket.

Thanks

Cross country as they caused the initial delay.

Thank you. Will they pay out for the full delay? As technically their delay is 118m and from past experience they LOVE a technicality

Regardless of a through ticket or a combination of split tickets, as long as you left the minimum connection time at Bristol then XC are liable to pay for the whole delay.
The delay would be based on your actually arrival time at destination.

Submit a claim to XC for the whole journey from Manchester to Chippenham.

Make sure you input the delay as 120+ minutes.

*Pedant alert* You’re not claiming a refund but compensation for the delay.
