Hi, just looking for some advise from you guys.

Yesterday I traveled on the 19:36 EDB - YRK

I was then supposed to change onto the 22:47 York - Brough

My LNER train to York arrived on time but due to a points failure at Selby, I had to get a rail replacement to Brough and arrived an hour late.

Can I claim delay re-pay for both legs (EDI-YRK and YRK - Brough) or can I only claim for the York to Brough section? I used an advance single for each leg of the journey. Thanks!

You absolutely can claim for both tickets, as the National Rail Conditions of Travel allow you to combine multiple tickets to make one 'journey'. The only caveat is that you have to leave the minimum connection time between trains. In this case, York has a minimum connection time of 8 minutes, but as you left more than that, you absolutely can.

From memory, Northern have a feature on their delay repay portal that let you put in more than one ticket, so they're one of the easier TOCs to claim from in that respect.

You can claim for both tickets as you were making one journey from Edinburgh to Brough.

Yes, both tickets in one claim which will be from Northern.
