Delay Attributor Interview - help needed please.

On Friday I have an interview for a delay attributor role with a train operator. There is very little information in the job description that I can work on. Does anyone here have a good understanding of what the role entails.

I guess it sounds fairly self explanatory ie. finding out the cause of delays and attributing them to an area. I would imagine that there would be conflict in this role as everyone is looking to put a delay down to someone else to avoid the delay going down on their budget.

I have no experience in the rail industry but bags and bags of experience in the airline industry with about ten years experience in airport operations so I am well used to delays and the consequences.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Happy to help, a delay attribution job involves allocating root cause responsibility in accordance with the delay attribution guide, which is administered by an independent delay attribution group. Please see here for all further detail http://www.delayattributionboard.co.uk

An essential function for finding the root cause to allow responsible managers to build business cases to address the problem.

There are strict rules that everyone should use, reducing the conflict because everyone 'should' come up with the same answer.
