hello everyone
I have mistakenly Booked an advance ticket because I was in a haste , and I explained time conductor. But still had my details collected.

I was suppose to get a ticket for 6:34 then I mistakenly booked a ticket for 8:29.
And I didn’t use the ticket I booked because I don’t need ticket for that time it was just a mistake.

What exactly are you asking us here? Can you be a bit clearer as to what happened, when, and what follow up has there been?

Can you explain what problem you now have?

I assume you travelled on a different train (from where to where?) to either of those.

Those Advance tickets would have had no validity on any other train apart from the train at the time listed on the ticket.

Have you received a letter about travelling on a train without valid ticket? If so which train company has sent you the letter and what does the letter say?

Please can you provide some more details so we can assist you.

Did the train conductor provide you with any paperwork? If so please can you upload with any personal details and reference numbers obscured?

Have you received any letters from the Train Operating Company? If so please can you upload with any personal details and reference numbers obscured?

How many tickets did you buy? Just one or did you buy a ticket for the train you actually travelled on?

Welcome to the forum! As people have said, it would be easier for us to help you if you can tell us what you want help with. But as my first guess:

- you seem to be saying that you didn't have a ticket for the train you were on. That's against the rules
- if you break the rules, the railway can charge you a penalty.
- They might have given you a 'penalty fare notice' which is £100 plus the cost of the ticket you should have bought. If you pay this quickly then it's £50 instead of £100. It's possible to appeal against these but you need to have a good reason or make some quite technical challenges. My advice if you have one of these would be to accept it and pay it quickly while you can still pay £50 plus the cost of the ticket.
- or they may have taken your details and said they will write later. In that case, make a note of everything that has happened so that you don't forget it, and wait for the letter. When it comes it might talk about prosecuting you or it might say it's a 'fixed penalty notice' (n.b. OP gives their location as Knaresborough and seems to be talking about short distance Advances, so I think we're talking about Northern). Come back to us when/if you get one of these: you will probably be able to settle out of court but it will cost something like £100 plus the fare, and maybe more
