Through no fault of mine my band had to revoke my card & issue me with a new one. The bank advised me to destroy the old card which I did.

The new card has a different number on the front and valid from / expiry date & 3 digit security code on the back.

Problem is I ordered some tickets from the London Midland website with my old card & haven't picked them up yet. I don't want a refund for the tickets as I bought Advance single tickets at rock bottom prices. I just want the tickets.

I've got the EMails from London Midland with the reference numbers for the tickets but I can't go to the vending machine at my local station & pop in the card I ordered the tickets with because I don't have it anymore.

Can someone give me some advise please ?

On Saturday evening I used a card, which was not used to purchase tickets, to collect tickets from a TVM from a station different to that which was selected for collection in the purchase process. The tickets had been paid for by my wife's boss using The Trainline.

I think that, as long as you have the code, you'll be fine!

Tickets booked using corporate accounts can be picked up with any card at any ToD-enabled station.

Tickets booked using personal accounts on the normal websites require the exact card used when ordering, but you can pick up from any ToD-enabled station.

I would advise calling the vendor (London Midland in this case) and explaining what has happened. They will be able to amend the booking to allow the tickets to be collected using another card, or from the ticket office upon presentation of ID. Note that ticket offices are not supposed to do this unless the vendor has first noted in the CTR system that this booking can be collected without the card

Some ticket offices will issue tickets with no problem though - I know Didcot have in the past (when presented with the booking confirmation and new card in the same name).

Thanks for clarifying that! As well as giving out the wrong information, I probably would have fallen foul of it myself at some point.

Note that Ticket Offices that use Cubic FasTIS (and FasTIS+, which is the Oyster-enabled version) can NOT issue ToDs. This affects Chiltern, Northern Rail and most London Overground stations.

Depends on the website! Trainline have recently (fsvo recently) started allowing "any card" collection again, but it seems to be totally random as to whether it's offered or not.

I believe the Trainline allows any card pickup for "regular" customers only, although I don't know what the definition of regular is.

Thanks everyone. London Midland have unlocked my bookings so I can use my current card with the booking reference number at the vending machine.

Do we know whether the ToD system logs the number of the card used for collection, in this scenario?

Looking at the specs, the card number stored is that used for payment (or all zeroes for other MoPs). This MUST not be updated as it forms part of the audit trail. The TIS used to issue the ticket will almost certainly log the card used, however. Shere Fast TVMs certainly do.
