Dear Nicholas (Saint),

Please can you divulge the methods by which you are able to dispatch parcels to a billion houses in 24 hours? I feel the scientific and technological advances we could learn from you would considerably further the quality of life of humanity. (In fact, it's kind of selfish that you're keeping them to yourself despite the obvious greater good to mankind.)

Yours, a concerned citizen of Earth

Dear Mr My-Coat-Was-Green-Until-Coca-Cola-Had-Their-Way,

With regards to this coming Mobius holiday season, I will insist upon you providing me an amazing girlfriend with a distinctively curvy body that is not curvy in the same way as mine and an intellect which is second only to my own. A better mother would not go amiss while you are at it.

I deserve this because I deserve everything to work out exactly as I want them to. Failure to comply will result in the Super Sonic Search and Smash Squad being ordered to dispose of you and your merry little elves.

Yours with great expectation,

Dr Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik (IQ 300; aged less than this)

All I want for Christmas is my railway mileage converted into UCAS points.

Two excellent early responses there :p

Please can I have a buyer for my Ford Ka for Christmas, so I can finally buy an MX5 to replace it and have a fun second car?

I probably don't deserve this, but it would be nice anyway.

Dear Santa,
Please give the West Coast franchise to someone that isn't Virgin and make Preston Bus more reliable and frequent. Also give me a bottomless tub of chocolate and a bottomless cup of coke (imagine spilling it!)
Thanks,
Terry, aged 14 and 5 months

Dear Saint Nicholas,

With your dearest permissions and sympathies I would like to request a Nintendo 3DS handheld video game unit. I have wished to obtain one since I first found out about them but they have now been out for nearly two years with no result to speak of. It does not need to be the more expensive XL model - in fact, an original model would be preferable - but a legitimate 3DS device of some descrption would be appreciated.

I realise that, because I have no faith in the religion your very existence is derived from, I have no real right to make such a request. But I have had a substantial number of things go wrong through the years, and yet have come out stronger at the other end. The only outstanding situation is that I am trying to make something from my life (by virtue of studying for a Degree, and potentially beyond), but am constantly out-of-my-depth in monetary terms which continues to provide further needless challenges; whilst I do not wish to say I deserve a 3DS unit for this reason, I hope you will look upon this request and feel that I am adequately deserving of a worthwhile response nonetheless.

Please also ensure that my niece is suitably accounted for in your delivery this year. Your team delivered an outstanding result last year and I am sure that she will be expecting another fine performance this year.

Yours sincerely,

Scott (23)

A bottomless tub of coke (presumably the Cola type...) would probably go flat alas.

Dear Santa's Customer Service letter-opening elves,

Please can I have:
- A bigger flat for less rent in a nicer area
- A new vacuum cleaner
- Some more signage that used to belong to TfL/LUL/LOROL
- A ToD-enabled S&B machine or clerk's TIS system

I deserve this because otherwise my flat will be dingey and dirty and not feel like a station. Also, my local station has no ToD and the staff are unhelpful, so I obviously deserve to print my own

Dear Santa

Please may I work a train that actually has working heating and not one that has more ice inside the train than outside and to also please get the passengers to stop stating the obvious that there isn't any heating on the train.

Surely your two things there directly contradict each other - if you get trains with heating, there's no need to ask for passengers to stop complaining about the lack of heating

As for my own one

Dear Fatman

Can I have a First Class 14 day ALR (and I am NOT referring to the member of RUK when I say that) with seat reservations, hotel reservations and sleeper berth reservations as appropriate. I also wouldn't complain about getting the winning lottery ticket.

If I receive these things, I will convert to a religion of your choice at at time that is convenient to me (for example, five minutes after my death).

Yours insincerely

Please may I have some more money.

I deserve this as I am always skint and would like to buy more things, which is good for the economy and all that.

Don't offer that! He'll have you working so much overtime that your SWI-WSB tickets will be worthless due to a break-up!

Haha too true, instead I will promise not to walk on my just operated on foot until the doctors say I can, because let's face it I don't take medical advice seriously hehe

I think its time for Me to do one,

Dear santa,

Could you please make my tutors tell me of work I need to do, before the deadline the hand it in has passed. Also, could you stop Siemens telling me off for missing lectures that where not on my timetable, as they if an official university document says they are free periods, its not really my fault. Also, Changing my uni timetable so I can go on a sleeper trip would be appreciated, cureenlty its not working.

For something material, Kayaking gear would be a good call, ideally Sweet or Kokatat :D
