[DE] Strike on Monday 27 March: No long distance services

Two unions have announced a strike for Monday 27 March. The DB has announced yesterday that there will be _no_ long distance (ICE, IC, ...) services what so ever on that day. Regional services will also heavily affected as the strike will affect the DB and several regional operators. Disruptions are expected to stretch into Tuesday as well.

On top of that, busses and trams in major cities will stay in the depots as well. And several airpors (including major hubs like Frankfurt and Munich) will also be affected by strikes. Munich has cancelled all passenger flights for Sunday and Monday.

Tickets for the 27/28 can be used before these dates or used until 4 April or submitted for a refund.

My office is right next to a major station: Will be an interesting view from my desk unto the tracks outside when (almost) no train movements are taking place.

Salery increases and working conditions. Germal law only allows for strikes in labor relation disputes. Unlike France, were political strikes are possible.

a National Express driver announced in the train that NX trains will operate, signalmen permitting.

More strikes at the railways are not announced at the moment.
In Germany there's no formal notice interval for strikes (I think in the UK you have two weeks notice ahead. I would be glad if we had similiar rules in Germany. For public transport we have typically one to five days notice but it's not a legal requirement).
At the moment there are disputes in the public sector (health services, administration, child care, public transport etc.) about wages. In the railway sector it's a dispute of EVG (trade union for signalmen, guards, administrative persons) at Deutsche Bahn Group (both TOC and infrastructure), the GDL (trade union of drivers) has no dispute at the moment.

JUst an addition to the hopefully only very, very few affected: in first it was announced it would hit DB-FERNtraffic (IC/ICE), but later announcements told that also all Nah verkehr would be hit (regional) and that thus in effect nothing from DB will run. Unclear how this will then effect the many other regional operators, but it safe to assume nothing will run. Also assume that the NIghtJet overnight trains will not run at all on both nights before&after, but exceptions may possibly occur. It is not just riding staff that will strike, also signal/traffic control etc.
Its strikes all over the continent: on DSO it was announced that also in FINland there is currently a transport-strike going on.
Myself now being in Portugal; in Porto there was a large tent set up at station forecourt of Campanha, proclaiming that salaries were far too low-also due to high inflation. etc and working conditions far too strenuous, so there was a strike going on-but I have noted no cancellation at all till now.

The Nightjets to/from Amsterdam do not run due to the DB-strike was already announced by NS International.

No solution was announced yet for the Amsterdam - Berlin ICs which are part of the domestic IC-network in the Netherlands. Though when I remember correctly they've used the rake of DB-carriages spending the night in Amsterdam with 1700 on both ends for a domestic shuttle on previous occasions.

That one is already over. Which was also announced on DSO.

The strike seems very effective. Not a single train in the Ruhr. Not even private operators.
