Nice to have 56103 down my patch today in Newhaven. Makes it worth going out for a change. Anyone know if this is a regular flow to Newhaven? Some reason they can't go to cliffe instead which is presume closer?

Brett Aggregates use both Cliffe and Newhaven to supply terminals around London. Today's 6M12 used a morning path out of Newhaven which is quite often used by DB Cargo, running as 6M26 to Cricklewood, Langley or Neasden.

Meanwhile over at Cliffe there was a DB Cargo service (7A95 10:10 to Langley) using the same loading slot that DCR quite often use when they run a 6Z20 to Chessington.

Not sure how frequent DCR will be into Newhaven, but if they work into Cliffe it also makes sense they would go to Newhaven to give a bit of flexibility to the overall train plan for Brett.

Looking at the schedules, Newhaven to Chessington via Willesden is 85 miles, against 61 miles from Cliffe to Chessington via Willesden.
