Isn't that the 67 that had a failure that's very expensive to fix, like a main generator flashover or something along those lines. Certainly I'm under the impression that there's one 67 kicking around that's likely to be out of commission for some time due to a serious fault.

67's don't have a main generator flashover they have traction motor flashovers and to repair this fault isn't that time consuming unless the traction motor is bust. 67010 was taken out originally when with WSMR due to excessive play in the shaft between the engine and the generator causing a serious vibration and wobble when idling with the ETH (HEP) on.

I've obviously got my wires crossed somewhere then, thanks for clearing that up.

Surprisingly, all of the 67s are now in traffic expect for 67004/023/010 which i think they are still undergoing test runs meaning 67011 is the only one out of traffic.

67010, according to WNXX, is at Wembley ready to start working for Chiltern. Although 013 & 014 will still be the only 2 used (with 18 on the Banbury set). Or at least that's what always seems to be out whenever I visit Chiltern mainline!!

I travelled with 67012 last Thursday, 67013 was the other loco out on the Birmingham runs. I reckon that I probably travelled more miles behind 67018 than any of the silver 67s on the Birmingham workings in the first half of this year, but it does now seem to have finally settled onto the Banbury trips.

Helped by the fact that it doesn't have the equipment to work with the 'Silver sets'.

Ah, that'll be with regards to the equipment required to operate the automatic doors, then. That would explain why it disappeared off the Birmingham runs when the power door stock started coming in!

I understand from the WNXX site that 67011 is now at Bescot "awaiting a tow Northward". Can anyone tell me if it is likely to be moved before Wednesday? It's the last one I want and I plan to do a trip to Bescot in the hope of seeing it on Wednesday if it's still there.

thanks

I can answer my own question. According to WNXX this morning it has already been moved to Longport for engine repairs.

Well it didn't last long if it has.

I hope it does eventually come back as I still need it for haulage.

Has 67010 broken again?

I wonder if it's gone to crewe for mods? The one problem with 67010 is that because it's been out of use for so long, it hasnt been modified for working with the Chiltern Mainline Silver sets (refurbished) - i so im told.

67010 has had the mods as it worked test trains with the power door sets as well as the 0619 Birmingham Moor Street-Marylebone on 29th October
