Does anybody know if DB UK would take a booking for Budapest-Vienna? I need to make a group booking for this route, for around 30 people. If not, does anybody know of a way of booking this ticket in the UK? I am struggling to buy a ticket on the Hungarian and Austrian Railways' own websites.

There are some knowledgeable people around - unfortunately I'm not one of them, but I can remember some of the things I have read!
It may be cheaper to buy in Hungary, but not necessarily easy to do.
You can book Budapest - Munich on DB with a break in Vienna - this might be even be the same price. Print at home tickets aren't available this way round, as the Hungarian staff can't check their validity.
(Railjet's business class is great, but not sure if there will be enough space for all of you. Sadly, I think they stopped the complimentary at-seat service).

In general one simply cannot buy for large groups on websites.
Principle is that the railway of the Originating country is the first one to approach. OTher railway booking offices, like DB in the UK, may not have access to all the heavy group-discounts, which also depend on what group it is, for what day/train, for what purpose etc.

You can buy tickets for single and return journeys starting in Austria on the ÖBB website under SparSchiene: https://ticketing.oebb.at/inet/pub/discount
The MÁV-Start website sells SparSchiene tickets for journeys starting in Hungary. This practice is still quite common for routes between Germany/Austria and Poland/Czech Republic/Hungary. I'm not sure whether you can buy full fare tickets starting in Hungary online.
To buy the tickets from MÁV-Start you have to register and create an account, then enter Budapest to Wien and your date of travel and number (and dates of birth) of passengers and then you will see which trains you can book for the 13 € SparSchiene price MÁV sells. You can get as far as seeing the prices without registering, but to book you have to add the tickets to a basket for which you have to register. You can currently also only book until 14th December (last day of 2013 timetable).
ÖBB shows a standard price of 36.40 € (Regional-Express/Intercity), 38.40 € (Railjet) or 40.40 € (EuroNight).
I imagine DB UK may have access to full fare tickets only for journeys not starting/finishing in Germany.
