I applied for Peterborough before Xmas, i am thinking of applying again for Peak Forest yard. Hopefully they will accept that i can move!

Can anyone else confirm that DB Schenker seem to have considerably simplified their application form ? I filled one out last year and it required answers to some of the MMI type questions but I could not submit it because the vacancy closed early. The form for the current vacancies seems to require a lot less information and I want to be sure it has downloaded correctly before I submit it.......

Hi im considering applying for this but as it will be my first application towards a Trainee Driver role id like to ask some advice if i may?
Ive read some conflicting information regarding commuting time, some say 30 mins but some say 60 mins.. does anyone know what DB Schenker's requirements are?
Also the application form is sent in PDF format but requested to be returned in Word, im presuming they want the application to be printed off and hand written before scanning and returning in oppose to completing it on computer, is this correct?

Taken from the job ad...i managed to fill mine using Adobe,printed it,signed it,scanned and then sent in the email reply as an attachment.

Why they can't make it easier to complete,like Northern's for example,is beyond me.

There may be an easier way,i didn't want to trust Royal Mail though!

Do you have an Acrobat Proffesional program that enables you to complete forms on Adobe or am i doing something wrong? I might try on a friends computer as there are only Tablets and Smartphones in my house.

I had to use my sister's PC,my version of Adobe wouldn't let me amend the form either,not sure of her version. Failing that you could send it via registered post / recorded delivery. Get it in soon though, these vacancies tend to close before the given date.

So I don't think the if many jobs exist.
As their advertising for qualified again aswell.

I haven't heard back from the last advert in November, so writing DBS off.

For those asking above, I filled out the form in MS Word, printed it out and signed it. Then scanned it back in and saved it as a PDF. Emailed that as an attachment.

I'm not sure how true that is , for example I am an one of quite a few external applicants brand new to the railway and am currently on the training course. Our course is approx 50/50 between internal and external. Just sayin!

I suspect the company may require you to be a UK (or maybe EU?) citizen. Just having indefinite leave to remain with permission to work may not be sufficient. You'll probably have to contact them to find out the definitive answer.
