Hey guys

Anyone sent your cv off for this job?

Didn't really say much about the job and it didn't have an application form, just asked for a CV

Anyone heard from them yet? Closing date was a week last Friday.

What's the next step from there? Do they let you know by phone/ post to let you know?

What does the job entail?

Thanks guys

Hi

Groundstaff at Margam shunt empty and loaded wagons from the Tata exchange sidings into the main DBS yard to despatch out onto the mainline.

They may also load/unload stab and coil like at Llanwern.

GS also examine loads prior to despatch, brake tests, couple, shunt etc.
You may also do RST training to carry out minor repairs on wagons.

12hr turns 365 days a year. Salary is poor circa 22k, but you've access to the internal lists. Shunter-driver roles are a step up from GS then onto mainline after that.

Very hard work in all weathers, but a tidy job for someone wanting a footing in the fright sector.

The next step is you'll be invited to a assessment paper based then manager interview. If your unsuccessful I doubt they'll let you know to be honest.

However with the greatest of respect mate, I'd be doing a little research before actually applying for the role. Remember there are plenty of HR/managers lurking on here and other boards.
