Thing is, though, they work on the German trains because the front is red, but because of the yellow fronts here, it just looks out of place and makes it look sh*te.

Newer and larger locos such as 60's, 66's & 67's are barred from certain lines due to weight restrictions/axle loadings, the WHL extension to Malliag & the Cambrian to Pwllheli being examples.

True, though they do also do a white or black stencilled one on non red and white stock. THe yellow thing is not their fault, and I'd like to see evidence that it actually possesses any benifits.

A few 67s can go up to Fort William, but I dont think they can get to Mallaig.

To Fort Bill yes, and so far on the extension to Mallaig I believe although not sure whereabouts, they are barred from Mallaig anyway so a 37 is required for any freight or charters up there.

To be honest you can never tell until you see it in the flesh I wouldn't be surprised if the shots had to be edited slightly that shade of red would mess up any camera.

Sorry...Cant remember the whole story around this but what i can remember is due to the 67's being bo-bo type bogies, and unlike the 37's being of co-co, which combined with the gradiants and excesive braking for varoius speed restrictions, wore down the brake blocks and casued overheating thus resulting in DBS allocating 67004/007/009/011/030 to the Sleepers with Cast Iron brake blocks fitted but a reduced max speed of 80 mph...

As for the 37... as the smilie says...im nuetral / mixed over it...personaly i dont think it look that bad but again what ruins iit is that stupid DB Sticker stuck on the front...but still...theres just something about it that dosent look right...

Bet unlike DRS theyve done nothing in there cabs though...

Why the hell are you lot all bothered about this TINY logo on the front, i can't believe what im reading. Here we have two briilliant /4 both out of storage not so long back, and DB schenker has gone out of their way to paint up these ancient locos from the 1960's, in what is a company all about a modern corporate image.

These locos look absolutely stunning. Personally i don't mind the logo on the front, i don't see how it can subtract from such a decent image anyway... But even so, if i didnt like it, i wouldnt rant about an obscure thing in such a larger picture.
