DB Cargo West London Hub

Question for those in the know. Under the new hub concept, West London covers Acton, Hayes and Harlington, Wembley, Willesden and Willesden PDRC. What route knowledge do drivers have for this hub (also what traffic flows are covered?) and what traction is used?

I can't answer all your questions, as I only know a bit, but they now sign up to Newcastle in some links for the post, steel to Donny, Acton yard, dollars Moor I believe. 66, some 60s, 325 and possibly some 59s too.

I would say (can't be 100%) that core traction for Acton would be Class 59 & 66 Acton along with Westbury are critical aggregates hubs with a number of "jumbo" stone trains out of Acton daily.

The royal mail trains are worked by DB. They are operated by Tyne Yard Drivers, West London Hub do not work them no more, same with them Doncaster steel train, operated by West Yorkshire Hub

i would imagine the royal mail train are operated by west coast drivers as well warrington and crewe as well possibly

surely it would be easier for a wembley crew or even acton crew to operate from willesden pdrc than a crew from tyne yard

Tyne Yard drivers lodge in London for the East coast royal mail.
Willesden to shieldmuir are all worked by Warrington/Crewe drivers in/out of PRDC
Wembley drivers lost the work when the West London Hub was created

seems strange db still having a depot at willesden with having traincrews at the pdrc and wembley yard and hayes and harlington also thought that would be covered by acton.

The hayange traffic is worked by South Yorkshire hub. Some West London hub drivers still cover the mail when needed.

The locations listed don't all have crews based there. They are just the locations that drivers based at that hub can be expected to start or finish their turn of duty at. Before the reorganisation, the signing on points were at Acton and Wembley as that is where the crews were based. Acton and Wembley now come under the West London Hub, meaning that crews based in that area (ie Wembley and Acton) can now start or finish their turn of duty at the other listed locations, not just Acton and Wembley.
