hi, I've seen this advert from DB cargo for trainee drivers [link] but it doesn't specify the location, it only says you need to live within 1 hour of one of their hubs.
Is there anywhere i can find a list of their driver depots? I live in the Newbury area and i know they have a yard at Didcot but i don't know if that counts as a hub or if they have other nearby location.
thanks.

Thanks. Do DB cargo consider any yard to function as a driver depot? or are there specific locations for drivers?

As it says in the advert, it's a nationwide recruitment campaign and they will progress candidates who are within an hour of a hub, when a vacancy at that hub arises

Specific locations.

For you, nearest hubs would be Didcot or Westbury

Great, thanks for the reply. I've already fired off an application. I'm out of range for Westbury but i'll keep my fingers crossed for Didcot.

I received a generic email after applying just saying it can take 14days IF theirs a vacancy in your area and if you don’t hear back more or less their isn’t anything.
It was just a U.K. wide add so could be all depots “unlikely” or select ones.

Have any heard back off db who applied as I see the vacancy has now been taken off there careers page

I applied on the 13th and got a knock back on the 18th.

We’ve received a high number of applicants and the hiring process has been a competitive one. I’m sorry to inform you that you’ve not been shortlisted for the next stage in the recruitment process on this occasion. We would encourage you to keep an eye on our careers page for future opportunities that may be suitable.

Yeah got that email on the 13th when I applied. I'm in West Yorks, Doncaster is probably the nearest hub for me.
That may well be that that depot don’t need anyone.
Deflating as it is I would say the above as it stated in the add depot dependant.

The email I got from DB Cargo UK on the 10th of this month said this:

"our shortlisting process... usually takes around 14 days" (my emphasis)

and then this:

"If you’ve not heard back from us within 20 days please consider that we won’t be progressing your application at this time" (my italics)

Of course, 20 days would be Monday which isn't far enough away for comfort (is it ever?). However... if nobody has heard anything since then my guess for what it's worth would be that they are still shortlisting. Incidentally, Scotrail sent out an email recently which said "We had originally advised that you should expect to receive an update on your application within 4 weeks of the closing date however we have received a higher volume of applications than expected which has delayed the completion of the initial screening stage. As a result, we are aiming to provide an update on your application in 6 weeks’ time". So, like, that's a thing.

Nil desperandum, and no news is good news.

Are you counting the day you submitted or the day the advert went down?

I think both of you may be surprised in simply how many applicants such roles get. It simply isn't feasible to give individualised feedback to hundreds or thousands of applicants.
