am i correct in thinking everyone that enters the talent pool will take a medical on entry or soon after. This was explained to me at DMI unless i heard wrong.

Also how long did it take before you heard back after your dmi?
Not the case mate. I’ve been in the talent pool since 2019 and I’m still awaiting a medical. The medical is done when there is a position available for you in preparation for you commencing employment.

On a separate note, during the waiting process did anyone contact HR for any updates at any time, if so did you receive a reply?
I have emailed a couple of times just looking for an update/reassurance that things are progressing etc…. And haven’t ever received a reply !

I’ve had a medical in the summer but still waiting for an official start date.

received an email asking what size PPE/corporate clothing I would need etc.

in regards to contacting HR, I have had some dialogue with them and have received responses to some of my emails and phone calls.

Who did you call/email mate and was that when you were in the talent pool or when you were waiting for a start date you had dialogue with them ?

Long shot, but I don’t suppose anyone who applied for the Doncaster depot has heard anything since? We applied back in May last year and we haven’t heard a thing since!

Definitely give HR an email as other regions have been through the process and are in talent pools.

I don’t suppose anyone has the contact details HR at DB? Had a look everywhere and they seem to hide them pretty well!

Same here, got an email in June last year saying the position was been reviewed and changes may be made but nothing since. I emailed HR a few times but never got a reply so have written the application off and moved on.

Cumbria only have about 17 including junior drivers… Cheshire has only mainline drivers but not to sure how many, I’d expect a few more. Wouldn’t expect many job to come up in Cumbria.

Cheers for that. I thought with Carlisle being a hub into Scotland, down WCML, across to north east and down the Settle - Carlisle line that it may be a fairly busy depot? Why do you say not to expect many jobs to come up in Cumbria by the way??
