Yeah I read that after I posted haha

best of luck to u man.

I guess that means they took about 3 months to invite you.. did you hear anything from them in between the 3 months? Did you follow up with them in that 3 month period?

thanks
Each depot and each person has a different time length, people on my course when I started were waiting nearly 2 years from applying to starting.. some took test straight away some later on. But for my self I applied in June 2019 and started in December 2019 , each month something happened, July invited to test , august took the test , September interview with mangers, October offered job , November contract and hotel details to start in November .

Some who applied in same batch as me only started last month .

I applied 2 and half year ago, passed all tests and had interview just before covid which was all good, and nothing since , looking more likely it's over for me as they advertised for same depot again, such a shame really, iv sent emails but replys are few and far between

Which depot did you apply for if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks I hope you hear something back too, the only email I got from them between applying and getting invited was just an email to say my application was under review and to allow time for them to go through everyone’s application, where have you applied for ?

Hi, I've been reading this forum for a while and this is my first post.

Does anyone have any further information relating to JDs specifically at Peak Forest please? I've read the thread and understand the job description/role - driving within the yard, marshalling, prepping, fault finding and so on - so my question is really more about how busy it is there, types of shifts, opportunities to progress to mainline etc.

I basically told her the dates I was available but then re read the email which states dates can’t be chosen so I sent her another saying I’m open to any dates but still nothing

There are no JDs at Peak. It'll be straight into trainee mainline driver.

Thank you for this - I found out on Friday I'm in a talent pool for that location. I'm hoping I won't be waiting too long for a course date.

Congratulations! Is this from a previous campaign or this year’s advertisement?

So have you sat Psychometric tests, passed them, and had a DMI recently via db? Or had you previously passed your psychometric tests?

I'd done the psychometrics already with another TOC a year or so ago, which DB were happy with. I only had a DMI for this role and that was a few weeks ago.

I didn't see any adverts for PF this year ? only in November 2020

It was part of the 'Warrington' campaign and that's where I thought I was applying for.

When I had my DMI they told me that DB operate a hub system and that there are three depots in the north west hub, with Peak Forest being one of them. They asked if I was interested in that location and I said yes.

Nice one! Good to see movement, not many saying they have been in for tests, and you are first saying they have had a DMI. Its likely a few others are in the same position but not posting up.

Yeah definitely. I think DB were running tests out of Doncaster in the early part of August, so maybe some will have had DMIs and will be hearing soon?

Maybe there’s a need for more drivers at PF so that’s why they’ve moved you across to that talent pool.

That could well be the case as they did say they were growing as a business and looking to take on more staff. I'd be happy taking any location to be honest (within the travel time) as I really want the job. Hopefully I'll hear something more in the next few months.

Not sure why they told you that. Peak Forest isn't part of the 'North West hub'.

There's 3 'hub areas' 'that way on', each area has so many 'booking on' points, where it's expected the driver may drive their own vehicle to book on at (although I couldn't tell you which 'booking on' places aren't used anymore):

1) Peak forest which comprises of PF only as a book on location

2) Cumbria, which includes; Annan, Carlisle Yard and Carlisle Station.

3) Cheshire, which includes Crewe station, Ince & Elton, Northwich, Warrington Bank Quay and Warrington Arpley

If they've offered you a job at PF, that's great, but I just thought I'd clear it up in case people think they'd be expected to book on at Peak if based in Cheshire hub for example.

Thanks for the info Atishyou. My interview was with two SAMs? I don't work for DB or have any experience/knowledge of their operations; I'm just passing on what I was told in my DMI.

I know. What they told you was wrong, just thought I'd help you / others understand better. Someone else messaged me about Peak Forest and they had been told something else which was wrong.
