DB Cargo Loco Repaints

Hi all,
Toton has come out with some interesting repaints recently so I thought a new thread was accurate for the occasion.

Starting with 60062's STEEL ON STEEL Livery!

One of the first investments EWS made at Toton was a paint shop. I do wonder what they've been doing over the intervening quarter century. Trying to find a paint match to sandite s*ite, perhaps!

But are these technically repaints??
Simple answer is no.
These are Vynil graphics, simply pull the backing off and stick em on. Still a difficult job for the novice to attach without blisters and bubbles but I approve of the 'in your face colour blast' non-the-less!

Yes and No. While the main bodyside might be vinyl, the rest of the loco has received a repaint (roof / front etc). So it's a half n half.

Well I can see it here in the USA and it looks a beautiful livery in my opinion

The link works for me. I don’t like the livery,the loco looks it’s had a fire and ruined the paintwork. The Steel On Steel phrase will probably be lost on those outside the industry.

I can see the photo now. Although the "STEEL ON STEEL" slogan is clearly visible, the word "Cargo" is unclear and the loco number is very difficult to see, it is too small. I do agree with Ashley Hill, it looks like the loco has been fire damaged.

A DB Cargo Deutschland Class 185 (namely 185 077) received the livery last year too, albeit in German reading "stahl auf stahl": https://flic.kr/p/2niicfF

DBC UK seem to be following their continental cousins in applying special liveries recently.
This is Vectron 193 363 with "Climate Hero" branding (https://flic.kr/p/2kJ8q23), which DBC UK copied for 66004 (with a few changes) and this is Vectron 193 318 with "Backbone" branding, copied by DBC UK for 90039 (https://flic.kr/p/2jrQ3ei).
