I'm trying to find a few different itineraries for journeys I'm possibly taking next year, but almost every possibility I try, it gives me connection times of 8 minutes or less at major stations, or changes off a direct service onto one slightly quicker.

Is there any way i can change the settings, or will i just have to work it out train by train, or the old fashioned way, a good old timetable

Havent used the app for a long time so cant say, but www.bahn.com allows you to specify extended connection times and include slower journeys (uncheck "prefer faster journeys")

S Yorks, usually
DB Navigator (the phone app) allows you to change things:
under "Travellers and Options" - "Options" - "Transfer duration" you can specify a longer connection time
under "Travellers and Options" - "Options" - "Via" you can add different routes to force the results to go a certain way
under "Travellers and Options" - "Options" - "Means of Transport" you can exclude certain kinds of transport (e.g. ICE, Intercity, regional trains, bus)
under "Travellers and Options" - "Options" - "Direct connections only" you can get it to try to minimise the number of changes
Does that help?
The same options are also available on the website bahn.de.

The DB website - and the app, based on the post above - has a great deal of flexibility, enabling you to plan exactly the journey you wish to make, rather than what the journey planner thinks you want!

If only UK TOC websites were so well developed...
Only the independent www.trainscanbecheaper.info has such flexible options for the UK, but can't take advantage of TOC special offers and discounts.
